Collective action with
Member Organisations
The healthcare sector is supported by a wide range of member organisations. The influence and impact of member organisations spans training, accreditation, continuing professional development, policy and advocacy, research and much more. These processes represent strong levers to influence the promotion of gender equity and women leadership in healthcare settings.
Member organisations also provide a platform for leadership and development through the volunteer participation of trainees, fellows and members in internal expert and governance committees. The association between this type of leadership exposure and leadership acquisition in the broader healthcare sector is not well-understood.
This theme aims to define the role of medical membership organisations in the advancement of women in healthcare leadership, and then use this knowledge to design and implement evidence-based interventions to support change.
